A steaming cup of hot chocolate santafereño with delicious melted cheese in Bogotá, a delicious plate of sea food with a sweet coconut rice in Cartagena; these are some of the Colombian recipes emphasized in the “Top 10 Food and Wine Destinations in Central and South America".


In this top 10 of gastronomic destinations of South America, Cartagena occupied the 7th position and Bogotá the 8th. Other dishes that were emphasized were Bogotá's traditional Ajiaco Santafereño-soup, as well as its coffees and desserts.


Trip Advisor is one of the web sites with highest credibility as for 
destination recommendations, it relies on 65 million users per month and 20 million registered users worldwide.

According to the Trade, Industry and Tourism Ministery, Bogota received in 2010 a total of 754.960 international travelers and between January and August 2011, the number reached 574.522 persons. The capital of the country is the destination that receives the most  foreign tourists. 
Cartagena, according to the same source, received last year 169.100 international travelers whereas between January and August 2011, 123.228 people came to the city.
