In July and August, the Museum of Modern Art is open late every thursday to hear live music and spend some nice time with friends. Last night the musicians invited were Frente Cumbiero, a Colombian band exploring this afrolatin rythm.

Frente Cumbiero was born on caribbean coast of Colombia as an experiment to rediscover the original sounds of cumbia, and mixing it with dub genre. They started to work with the support of the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogotá, where they recorded their first album under the supervision of Mad Professor, a great dj, producer, percussionist and singer from Guyana.

Frente Cumbiero played last nigh in NY at 5.30, and then they'll have some other shows programmed in Brooklyn (today and tomorrow) and New York again on July 18th. Check their tour dates out.

Don't miss it!
